As the Head of Communications, Marketing and Brand you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our marcomms strategy and leading the team delivering on B2B communications, content marketing, digital marketing and brand. You will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that effectively convey our mission, projects, and achievements to diverse audiences including our industry partners, media outlets, and the general public. Your strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and commitment to sustainability will drive our message, brand and impact forward.
You will also lead our Comms Working Group (which includes representatives from our global partners) as well as managing all of our media relations activities – monitoring media activity around sustainable travel and managing media relationships (including responding to media requests).
As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Product & Partnerships team to agree weekly, monthly and quarterly priorities for communications, brand and marketing, supporting both strategic planning and operational execution.
Contract Type
Full-time fixed term maternity cover contract 11.5 months commencing c. Mid June 2025. Applicants are required to be available for the full duration.
Location
Fully remote within an EU compatible time-zone. You will be required to travel for periodic in person connection with the team, and for attendance at a small number of key industry events.

What you’ll get to do:
Communications Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with Travalyst’s goals and values.
Identify key communication objectives and target audiences including industry partners, media and the general public, tailoring messages to resonate with each group.
Create communication strategies for launches, events, and new Travalyst workstreams.
Track, analyse, and report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns using relevant metrics and analytics tools and utilise insights to refine strategies and measure the impact of our communication efforts.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance communication efforts.
Media Management
Main point of contact for any crisis and issues management.
Oversee the development of multimedia content, such as videos, infographics, and podcasts, to diversify communication approaches.
Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage and increase our visibility.
Support the Marketing & Communications Lead in managing incoming media requests, such as organising interviews with our senior management and/or stakeholders, providing journalists with appropriate content etc.
Ensure we respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner.
Speaking opportunities
Lead the speaking opportunities strategy ensuring Travalyst’s exposure on the world stage.
Prepare our CEO and Senior Leadership for speaking opportunities and maximise Travalysts’s exposure using earned media strategies.
Lead the Comms Working Group
Maintain relationships with the Comms Leads from our partners (including Amadeus, Booking.com, Expedia, Google, Mastercard, Sabre, Skyscanner, The Travel Corporation, Travelport, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor, and Visa among others) and keep them informed of our activities.
Understand the strategic priorities of our partners and what communications they are planning (or what live issues they are managing).
Scheduling and preparing for multi-stakeholder Working Group meetings.
Support on keeping meeting quality high by ensuring agendas are sent, and each meeting is followed up with minutes, an action tracker and next steps.
Proactively seek ways to improve (recurring) meeting quality, by planning ahead and running sessions with stakeholders to gather feedback.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the Communications, Marketing, and Brand team and any external agency/consultancy resources, fostering an environment that encourages innovation, excellence, and collaboration.
Ensure efficient project management and resource allocation across communications, digital marketing, content marketing, and brand initiatives.
Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and measure team performance against established metrics.
Marketing and Brand Strategy
Oversee the development and implementation of integrated marketing and brand strategies designed to enhance Travalyst’s visibility, influence, and reputation.
Give direction to the team to deliver B2B content marketing initiatives which generate impactful narratives that resonate across various channels, driving audience engagement and supporting broader organisational objectives.
Give thought leadership to support future digital marketing campaigns, leveraging data analytics to optimise content, maximise reach, and measure success.
Ensure brand consistency across all platforms, leading the team to develop guidelines and overseeing brand messaging, design, and visual identity.
What skills we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree at 2.1 or above in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, marcomms or relevant field.
Significant experience in a similar senior role, ideally including time working with a trade body or other multi-stakeholder environment.
Prior experience operating as part of a leadership team, and in leadership of a marketing, and/or communications function.
A good command of English is essential, as are excellent communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
Passion for sustainability, responsible travel, and making a positive impact on the world (prior experience in sustainability field and/or travel and tourism a distinct advantage).
Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques, with proven experience in creating targeted content.
Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management, content creation, and multimedia production.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in media relations, including media outreach, press release writing, and crisis communication.
Proven capabilities in developing and managing integrated content marketing, digital marketing, and brand strategies.
Familiarity with data analytics and tools to measure communication effectiveness.
Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure, with a high attention to detail and a desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Comfortable working in a virtual-office environment (familiarity with Google Workspaces would be advantageous). Highly motivated and productive in that sort of remote environment.
